The
rapid evolution of particle physics over the last century, from the
discovery of the electron to the recent observation of the Higgs boson,
has been matched by advances in technology and improvements in our
standard of living. Fermilab director Nigel Lockyer explains why
Benjamin Franklin, one of the premier scientists of his time, would
enjoy the science of particle physics and would admire how we got this
far so fast.
