My
first physics lecture. I just go over the electroweak interaction and
employ methods from quantum field theory such as spontaneous symmetry
breaking, unitary/gauge transformations, Dirac spinors and Lagrangians. I
also describe how the W and Z bosons along with the electron gain a
mass, leaving the photon massless. In addition, a limitation of the
SU(2)XU(1) Weinberg-Salam Model is indicated where the neutrino is
massless. Hope you enjoy!
