Dynamic Solitons and Worms

This is a simulation using the
Gray-Scott reaction-diffusion formula with coupled wave and history
reagents. The settings used here produce vibrating solitons that become
worms in some conditions. When hit by a prolonged stream of solitons,
worms tend to oscillate and eventually break, when worm tips oscillate,
solitons are emitted. Solitons move in interesting wiggly paths,
avoiding each other whilst at the same time influencing each others
direction and perturbing the worms.
Starts to get more interesting around halfway through.
Created and simulated in Ready, composited in SideFX Houdini Apprentice HD.
