During
a Mar. 4 news briefing at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston,
members of the agency’s science community discussed the research
conducted with the help of astronaut Scott Kelly of NASA and cosmonaut
Mikhail Kornienko of Roscosmos, on their recently concluded year-long
mission aboard the International Space Station. More than 400
experiments took place during their expedition that will help scientists
better understand how the human body reacts and adapts to long-duration
spaceflight. That knowledge will play a critical role in future NASA
missions deeper into the solar system and on the Journey to Mars.
