Neil
deGrasse Tyson (born October 5, 1958) is an American astrophysicist,
cosmologist, author, and science communicator. Dr Tyson is arguably the
greatest popular educator of science and particularly physics, astronomy
and space science in America today.
He is currently the
Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center
for Earth and Space and a research associate in the department of
astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History. From 2006 to
2011, he hosted the educational science television show NOVA ScienceNow
on PBS and has been a frequent guest on The Daily Show, The Colbert
Report, and Real Time with Bill Maher. Since 2009, he has hosted the
weekly radio show Star Talk.
In 2014, Tyson hosted the
television series Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, a sequel to Carl Sagan's
1980 series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage.

Other Cosmic Quandaries is a popular science book written by Neil
deGrasse Tyson and first published in 2007. It is an anthology of
several of Tyson's most popular articles in Natural History Magazine
over the course of his 12 years at the magazine, with each chapter being
an essay based on an interesting, independent topics that Dr. Tyson
himself felt was the best and that were highly requested by the public,
everything from the nature of knowledge, killer asteroids, science and
religion and of course "death by black hole"!
